LIONAL, are an indie/alternative pop band from Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland…
Consisting of Joshua Mackenzie, Russell Montgomery, Ross Haddow and Gogo McKerrow, in late 2015 the band signed to brand new independent label IMOUT Records and released their debut single ‘Season of Salt’ followed by a tour of Scotland to support its release.
This single has not only received airplay from national radio such as BBC Radio Scotland, but it also achieved worldwide airplay on syndicate radio show ‘Passport Approved’, most notably with frequent rotation on Los Angeles world famous KROQ!
They have received endless praise from numerous notable names, including from Jim Gellatly in The Scottish Sun describing them as “the fully formed article” who are “destined for big things”, and their rise in popularity since the single’s release proves just that.
Last year saw Lional make their television debut on STV’s Live at Five as well as being invited in for a live BBC Introducing session with Vic Galloway. The band played a series of high profile Scottish festivals throughout the summer, including Loopallu, Groove Festival, Tenement Trail and a triumphant set to a capacity crowd of over 1500 in the Hothouse tent at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
Their BBC Introducing set is not one to be missed and you can listen to it over on their Soundcloud channel now!
